Property tax collection goes down in South Delhi

Collection of property tax in South Delhi went down this past financial year as compared to 2013-2014, while the number of households in the net went up marginally.

As per the SDMC’s estimates for 2014-2015, which was presented on Monday, property tax collected till January 4, 2014, was Rs.455.90 crore. In 2014-2015, the house tax collected upto January 3, 2015, was Rs.444.81 crore.

Leader of House Radhey Shyam Sharma said: “House tax is one of the main sources of revenue for the SDMC. I admit that we have fallen short of our target this year, but in the coming year we will exceed the target.”
