A private developer in Noida on Thursday accused Authority Chief Executive Officer Amit Mohan Prasad of vendetta against his company.

CEO rejects charges

Mr. Prasad, however, refuted all allegations.

Griha Pravesh Buildteck Pvt Ltd developer Abhay Kumar, who has developed a group housing project in Sector 77 here, claimed that Mr. Prasad had booked a project with his company in 2010 and sought some “benefits”. When he refused to do Mr. Prasad’s bidding, Mr. Kumar added, he waged a vendetta against him.

‘Illegal construction’

“Within an hour of taking over as the Noida Authority CEO, he asked the department concerned for my project file...I had received a completion certificate for my project before he took over. However, Mr. Prasad reopened the project file and issued a notice over illegal construction. I have lodged a complaint against him with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,” Mr. Kumar said, adding that it was a clear case of misuse of official position.

Reacting to the allegations, Mr. Prasad said he got the flat registered in 2016.

‘Cleared all dues’

“Before going for the registry, developers ask buyers to clear all pending payments. I cleared all payments and took a bank loan of ₹40 lakh for the flat,” Mr. Prasad said.

“As per government orders, we are conducting a drive against developers who are harassing home-buyers. We are committed to providing relief to home-buyers and this drive will continue,” he added.

No written complaint

UP Principal Secretary (Industries) and Noida Authority Chairman Alok Sinha said he had not received any written complaint against Mr. Prasad.

“If the developer writes to Mr. Adityanath, the complaint will go to another department for probe,” Mr. Sinha said.
