Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Delhi are busy with preparations for the first rally by the party under the leadership of its new president Nitin Gadkari which would seek to take the political temperature higher in the scorching heat by once again raising the burning issue of price rise.
With a large number of people expected to turn up for the rally on April 21, the party cadre and leaders are busy making arrangements. Raising banner of a protest against the rising prices, the rally will be held in two parts. First the party leaders would address the gathering at Ramlila Grounds and then they would give out a clarion call for marching to Parliament.
“The rally is significant as this is the first time that the entire political leadership of the BJP would be coming together under the leadership of Mr. Gadkari. So the success of the rally will in a way be the success of the new leader,'' said a senior party leader.
Another leader said that through this protest rally Mr. Gadkari, who is organising similar protests in other States, would also be bringing the party out on the roads as a united unit.
“The political message would be that the party will now not shy in mobilising people and resources to expose the wrong policies of the UPA regime,'' he added.
While the rally would draw a large number of people from Delhi and satellite townships, many more are expected to turn up from other districts of the nearby States as well.
“At all the eight borders, water, food and toilet facilities would be provided to the party cadre who would be coming by buses. Similarly, at the three railway stations, they would be welcomed with vermillion tilak by women activists of the party,'' said party general secretary and rally in-charge Vijay Goel.
Arrangements
Stating that arrangements for stay of the rallyists are also being made in various grounds such as Dangal ground in Chandni Chowk and Ajmal Khan Park, he said while tents are being erected for them, special emphasis is being laid on ensuring that adequate arrangements for food packets and water are in place before the event.
“Be it the Yuva Morcha, Mahila Morcha or the councillors, specific tasks have been assigned to every group,'' he said.
