The police are analysing call details and scanning the contents of the mobile phone used by the British national arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting three visually-impaired children at a school in South Delhi earlier this week. They are trying to find out if the 54-year-old accused, Murray Dennis Ward, had targeted other children as well.

Laptop seized

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ishwar Singh said that so far nothing has been found to suggest that he had targeted other children or had engaged in objectionable conversations with them, but they are waiting for the phone records and other audio visual contents of his phone to be checked and the reports to be sent to them.

According to the police, Murray’s phone and laptop were seized by the Cyber Cell and their contents were being examined. Some objectionable clips were found on them and the police are checking them to ascertain if there were some other victims as well, said a senior police officer.

On Tuesday, the children who were allegedly assaulted by Murray at the National Association for the Blind (NAB) were counselled by volunteers. The Police have roped in an NGO to help the victims open up about their ordeal. A caretaker of the institute had made a short video of the accused and handed it over to the police.

‘Sex education’

It is learnt that during interrogation Murray had claimed that he was educating the inmates about “sex”. Police sources said this was an attempt by the accused to save himself, but they have incriminating and even video evidence against him.

Further the police are probing whether he was a part of any group involved in sharing material pertaining to paedophilia, said an officer.

Murray, a native of Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, had suffered a paralytic attack in February and had quit his job with a Gurgaon-based multi-national company in April. He used to donate study material to the NAB and also teach English to the students there. He had been associated with NAB for nine years. Murray was arrested on Sunday for inappropriately touching three minor inmates at the institute.
