Overnight showers kept the mercury in the national capital on the lower side today as the city woke up to a bright sunny morning.
Rains lashed several parts of the city and National Capital Region (NCR) for several hours during the night. It started drizzling at around 11 pm yesterday and gathered pace as the night progressed.
The rain gauges in the city measured 7.6 mm of rains in the city during the night.
However, there was no significant drop in the minimum temperature and it actually rose by 0.1 degree Celsius from yesterday’s lowest temperature.
The mercury dipped to a minimum of 16.6 degree Celsius this morning, which is six degrees above normal level of temperature at this point of time.
During the last week, the temperature in the city has been oscillating between 14 and 28 degrees Celsius.
The Weatherman said there could be mist in the morning tomorrow. The maximum and minimum is likely to hover around 26 and 16 degree Celsius respectively.
The all time record for the maximum temperature in November was recorded on the third of the month in 2001 when the mercury rose to 36.1 degrees Celsius. The record minimum temperature was 3.9 degrees on November 28, 1938.
