The north-east district police have arrested a man for allegedly making a hoax call saying some Dera supporters had tried to set vehicles ablaze following Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s conviction.

DCP (north-east) A.K. Singla said the call was received at the Harsh Vihar police station on August 27.

The caller, who identified himself as Dharmender, said, “Opposite shamshan ghat , some women are trying to set ablaze vehicles”.

The information, however, was found to be false.
