The Traffic Police here have started verification of cab drivers after the alleged rape of a woman by a driver associated with taxi-booking service Uber in Delhi this past week.

Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Rajiv Narayan Mishra said on Monday all SHOs have been asked to identify taxis registered under their jurisdiction. He said owners of 40 cab companies here had been called for a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the need for verification of drivers. While Delhi has banned Uber, the service is still operational in Noida.
