Following the suicide of a Class IX student in Noida on Tuesday, her family members on Friday alleged that they have received death threats from her school.

“We have spoken about the same to SSP of Gautam Budh Nagar. We have demanded police protection. We will not leave this fight,” the victim’s father said.

Speaking at his residence on Friday, the deceased’s kathak teacher Pandit Birju Maharaj demanded a fair probe into the incident.

He said, “The parents are also at fault. They should have take action earlier. Maybe the girl would have been alive today. The school must also cooperate in this investigation so that the truth comes out.”

On Friday, a team from Delhi government’s Directorate of Education visited the victim’s house.

The Noida police are still investigating the matter. Her last rites were completed by the family on Friday morning.
