‘No plastic covers on schoolbooks’

Department of Environment told them that a ban had been imposed on use of plastic to cover any book

The Directorate of Education (DoE) has issued a circular to all heads of schools under its jurisdiction asking them to ensure that children do not used any kind of plastic material to cover books. It was acting on instructions from Department of Environment telling them that a ban has been imposed on use of plastic /sheet/ film or plastic tube to cover any book including magazine, invitation card or greeting card in NCT of Delhi and same will apply to schools books. It added that the initiative was taken to reduce plastic waste generation and safeguard city’s environment.
