Despite Mr. Tiwari’s claims on how the vulnerability of his own house to such an attack had challenged the perception of North Avenue being a secure area, the Delhi Police said there was no proposal to enhance the security outside the house.
‘Out of the blue’
Talking to reporters, Mr. Tiwari had said the house does not have guards. Asked if the police was proposing to deploy a few constables to prevent a repeat, a senior police officer said they were not considering it. “The incident was not a major one and was over road rage. There doesn’t seem to be a need for any deployment,” said the officer.
Another senior police officer however said they may analyse the threat perception and if need be security will be provided. Mr. Tiwari, too, denied writing to the police for extra protection and said that the incident had happened out of the blue.
