NGT for priority to solid waste management

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Thursday orally directed the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) to not carry out industrial constructions in Rani Kheda village.

Further, the green panel said handling of solid waste management should be given priority over other industrial activities.

A Bench headed by NGT chairperson Swatanter Kumar also observed that no landholding agency was willing to provide a solution for the municipal crisis in the Capital.

The green panel had earlier directed the corporations to verify the list of alternative landfill sites that were submitted by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
