Names of Parliamentary Secretaries announced

: The Delhi Government on Saturday issued orders for appointment of 21 MLAs of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party as Parliamentary Secretaries, who will be attached to the six Ministers for assisting them in their work in different spheres. The Parliamentary Secretaries will get the Minister's status, but would not be given any perquisites.

According to the official sources here, the newly appointed Parliamentary Secretaries will assume the charge after being sworn in by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Though they will not be eligible for any remuneration or perks of any kind, an office space in the Minister's office would be provided to them and they may use the government transport for official works.

Sources said the new arrangement would ensure sharing of workload of Ministers without any burden on the Exchequer.

MLA Praveen Kumar has been appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Education Minister, Sharad Kumar to the Revenue Minister, Adarsh Shastri to the Information & Technology Minister, Madan Lal to the Vigilance Minister, Shiv Charan Goel to the Finance Minister and Sanjeev Jha to the Transport Minister.

Sarita Singh was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Employment Minister, Naresh Yadav to the Labour Minister, Jarnail Singh (Tilak Nagar) to the Development Minister and Rajesh Gupta, Rajesh Rishi and Anil Kumar Bajpai to the Health Minister.

Som Dutt will function as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Industries Minister, Avtar Singh Kalka to the Minister for Gurdwara Elections, Vijender Garg Vijay to the PWD Minister, Jarnail Singh (Rajouri Garden) to the Power Minister, Kailash Gahlot to the Law Minister and Alka Lamba to the Tourism Minister.

Manoj Kumar was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Nitin Tyagi to the Women & Child Development and Social Welfare Minister and Sukhvir Singh to the Minister for Languages and Welfare of SC/ST/OBC. (EOM)
