Bollywood star Aamir Khan who has been resisting television so far is all set to make his debut on the small screen with Satyamev Jayate , a brand new show dealing with real stories from across the country.

The show is set for its premiere on Star TV network this Sunday.

While speculation is rife on why the actor has agreed to do the show, Aamir himself has explained the reason to be on television.

“Over the last few years, I have often been approached for various television shows. But none of those that were offered to me really excited me. I work only if I am excited about it,” says Aamir Khan.

Enormous reach of TV

“What excites me about television is its power and reach, its enormous potential to connect with people. And this is what I want to use. I want it to be an enriching experience for me and for my audience,” he says.

According to Aamir, Satyamev Jayate is not just a show for him but a journey. “A journey of discovery, of change, of emotions and of human stories which touch and inspire us. My dream is to impact lives.”

The show, to be telecast every Sunday, seeks to connect with people across classes and geography.

The show's title track features the Lagaan actor travelling across the length and breadth of the country meeting people from different sections of society.
