Film-maker Muzaffar Ali called on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday to discuss the state of the entertainment industry in the Capital.
Mr. Ali suggested that a film training institute be set up in Delhi.
According to a Delhi Government statement, the Chief Minister said the the Aam Aadmi Party-ledgovernment was interested in promoting the film industry.
Mr. Kejriwal asked for Mr. Ali’s help in coming up with ideas to convert Delhi into an entertainment hub.
Mr. Ali also asked the Chief Minister to consider reviving Jahan-e-Khusrau, a Sufi festival that has been discontinued for the past two years.
The festival had been organised with support of the Centre and Delhi Government and other cultural organisations.
Mr. Kejriwal said the proposal for holding the festival will be examined by the Department concerned, and subsequently taken up with the Central government.
Mr. Ali is known for his cinematic adaptation of Urdu novel “Umrao Jaan Ada”.
