Professional musicians along with students from Lorraine Music Academy, schools, colleges and universities from across the National Capital Region will gather to remember Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on October 2 at Epicentre Auditorium in Gurgaon.

There will be a celebration through songs, instrumental music, and dance performances with an emphasis on Gandhiji’s favourite hymns and prayers like ‘Vaishnavo Jana To’, ‘Raghupati Raghava’, ‘Jay Jay Mataram’, and ‘Abide With Me’ among others.

A piano recital of ‘Ode To Joy’ composed by Beethoven, whose music Gandhiji enjoyed listening to, will also be performed. The musical memorial will also pay homage to Lal Bahadur Shastri.

The musical memorial will include ‘The Thinkers’ Forum’ which comprises live on-stage interviews and interaction with Kumari Radha Bhatt, chairperson of Gandhi Peace Foundation and Neera Shastri, daughter-in-law of Lal Bahadur Shastri.

The event will include a workshop to educate and encourage the audience to abide by the Constitution of India and respect its ideals and institutions, the National Flag and the National Anthem. The show will also seek to strengthen the nation-wide drive to encourage proper singing of our National Anthem the right way as per the code laid out in the Constitution. The entry is free and the event will start at 7 p.m.
