Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday attacked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, saying Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh has lost faith in him and appointed Shivpal Yadav as party’s state in charge.
BJP State president Keshav Prasad Maurya also claimed the party would repeat its performance of Lok Sabha elections in the 2017 Assembly elections.
“BJP will repeat its performance of 2014 (Lok Sabha elections) in 2017 Assembly polls too. People of the State are fed up with SP misrule and even SP supremo Mulayam Singh has lost faith in Akhilesh Yadav and made Shivpal as State in charge,” he told reporters after a meeting with the office bearers at the party at the headquarters here.
He also said the new state executive would be announced soon.
Asked about Prashant Kishor, who played a key role in victories of Narendra Modi-led BJP in the general elections and JD(U)-RJD-Congress alliance in Bihar, helping the Congress in the State, Mr. Maurya said two crore party workers of the BJP are its managers and they would do “election management” work for the party.
“We will rely on our workers. They will be our election managers and we will succeed in winning more than 265 seats,” he added. PTI
