The son of a Border Security Forces officer, who went missing two days ago, was found on Monday at his “girlfriend’s” home in the national Capital, the police said.

“Gopal Dubey, who went missing on Saturday, was staying with his girlfriend in New Delhi,” Assistant Police Commissioner Manpreet Singh Dhillo told journalists at a press conference in Jalandhar.

Gopal went to school with his sister but did not return home, leading to reports of his kidnapping. These were later denied by his family, Mr. Dhillo said.

Gopal had befriended the girl in Jalandhar and they continued their friendship on a social networking site.

The girl had called him to Delhi, Mr. Dhillo added.
