A 13-year-old girl got pregnant after allegedly being raped repeatedly by her brother-in-law, who is a PhD scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University and lives in South Delhi, the police said.
The accused has been arrested after a case was registered against him under POCSO Act and Section 376 of IPC, they said.
The incident came to light when the victim was taken to a hospital after she complained of stomach ache. When the doctors found that the girl was two months pregnant, they informed the police.
On questioning, the girl broke down and revealed her ordeal to the police.- PTI
