A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by a dance instructor and his three friends in Vikaspuri here earlier this week. All four have been arrested.

Gulshan Sharma (19), an instructor at a dance academy at a DDA market in Vikaspuri, and his three friends, including two minors, allegedly raped the girl inside the academy on Tuesday evening. “The girl got enrolled in a dance class at the institute three months ago and became friendly with Gulshan. On July 5, the girl came to the academy for her classes around 3 p.m. A few hours later she went out with Gulshan to a nearby park and the two returned to the academy around 8 p.m. One of Gulshan's friends, Ramu (20), also came along. Gulshan then called up two of his friends, both minors, and all four allegedly raped the girl,” said a senior police officer.

Gulshan allegedly kept the girl captive at his house in Dabri. When the girl did not return home, her family reported the matter to the police. She was rescued on July 7. The girl told the police that she had been gang-raped and a case was registered. Gulshan, a resident of Dabri, and Ramu were arrested the same day. Their minor accomplices were apprehended the next day. One of the minors is a Class VIII student at a school near the dance academy. The other minor is a school dropout and studied at the same school earlier.
