A minor domestic help was allegedly gang-raped by an acquaintance and his three friends for over a week in Khayala here this past month. One of the accused and his wife have been arrested in this connection.

The matter came to light when the 16-year-old victim, a native of Assam, called up Police Control Room on September 9 regarding the incident.

Taking up investigation, the police arrested Naval Kishor and his wife Sabina.

“The woman knew that the girl was being kept captive in her house and gang-raped, but she did not inform the police, and also prevented the girl from escaping,” said a senior police officer.

Three of the accused — Imran, Mithun and Laloo — are absconding. A case has been registered at the Khayala police station in this connection.

The victim had worked as a domestic help in Delhi for over two years before returning to her native village in Assam early this year.

She returned to Delhi in June and started working as domestic help in Rohini, but was not happy with the job.

“She quit the job in the last week of August and asked her acquaintance Imran to arrange lodging for her. Imran took her to his friend Naval’s house on August 25. According to the victim, she stayed in the house till September 1. During this period, Imran and Naval, along with their friends Mithun and Laloo, raped her everyday. They used to make her consume liquor raping her,” said the officer.

On September 2, the accused took her to a railway station and left her there. The victim did not board the train, instead she went to a relatives’ house.

When she told her relative about her ordeal, he encouraged her to file a complaint.
