Metro operator finds, returns box with Rs.1.64 lakh

A Delhi Metro train operator found an unclaimed lunch box containing currency on Tuesday night while driving the train from Jehangirpuri to Central Secretariat.

The lunch box contained currency worth Rs.1.64 lakh.

The train operator deposited the lunch box at the Lost & Found counter at the GTB Station where the contents of the lunch box were revealed. The officials then tracked the complaints of the day and finally managed to contact a person who had lodged a complaint about a missing lunch box.

“After verifying the claims, the man was returned the lunch box with the money intact,” said a Delhi Metro spokesperson.
