Men sleeping on footpath crushed to death

Two unidentified men sleeping on a footpath were crushed to death on Sunday morning after a truck allegedly lost control and toppled in north Delhi’s Civil Lines.

Truck driver Jaswant has been arrested. The police said the truck from Bulandshahr in UP was headed towards Narela mandi.

The victims were taken to AIIMS Trauma centre, where they were declared dead. They are yet to be identified. A case of causing death due to negligence has been registered. Preliminary probe has revealed that the driver was allegedly speeding when he lost control of the vehicle. Jaswant fled after the accident but was traced and taken into custody.
