Medicos protest govt. order

August 03, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Medical students of Maulana Azad Medical College, Lady Hardinge Medical College and University College of Medical Sciences have opposed the Centre’s cancellation of the order transferring Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital) and Vardhman Mahavir Medical College to Delhi University from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

The move earlier met with strong opposition from the students of IP University, who could lose the advantage of State quota for Delhi students that came with the affiliation of IP university, if the said transfer took place.

With the Centre announcing withdrawal of the proposals, DU medical students took out a peaceful march from CP to Jantar Mantar on Tuesday.
