Mayor complains to L-G about Congress councillors’ behaviour

August 22, 2014 09:26 am | Updated 09:26 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A heated session of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation on Thursday had to be adjourned when Congress councillors obstructed proceedings. Mayor Yogender Chandolia complained about the obstruction to the Lieutenant-Governor.

The Congress slammed the ruling-BJP for neglecting Bara Hindu Rao Hospital and stormed the well of the House in protest. Mr. Chandolia and Leader of the House Mira Aggarwal did not appreciate this, terming the Congress’ protest unhealthy.

Ms. Aggarwal moved a resolution condemning the behaviour of the Opposition, which was passed by the BJP-led House. Mr. Chandolia then wrote to Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung, with a copy of the CCTV footage of the proceedings attached.
