A day after an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker Soni allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison, the Delhi government on Wednesday has ordered a magisterial probe in to the matter.

The North Delhi Magistrate will carry out the probe and submit the report.

Announcing the decision of the Delhi government, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted, “Have ordered magistrate inquiry in AAP activist suicide case in Narela. DM north will do the inquiry (sic)”.

Police officials said that Soni, from Outer Delhi's Narela area, has left behind a two-page note describing her ordeal and blaming another party worker of harassing and torturing her. “She has also mentioned in the note that she even raised the issue with AAP's senior leaders, but it went unheeded,” a police official said.
