Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh met the Manipuri rape victim and her family at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences here on Monday and assured them of help.

He was accompanied by Health Minister Phunzathang Tonsing, Agriculture Minister Mohammad Nasir and MLA O. Landhoni Devi.

Talking to journalists, the Chief Minister said Governor V.K. Duggal, stationed in Delhi, also talked to Delhi Police chief Bhim Sain Bassi on Sunday. “He also met the lady police officer who was the investigating officer in the case. She told him that the accused admitted to having committed the crime and that she would submit a charge sheet within 20 days,” said an official.
