Man with bounty of ₹50,000 surrenders in Greater Noida

He is one of the accused in the BJP leader murder case

A criminal carrying bounty of ₹50,000 on his head surrendered at Bisrakh police station in Greater Noida on Monday, the police said, adding that he is one of the accused in murder of BJP leader Shiv Kumar Yadav.

Dozen cases

The accused, Sheru Bhati, a resident of Ghanghola village in Greater Noida, is an accused in over a dozen cases of murder, robbery and attempt to murder, the police added.

“Mr. Sheru was associated with Sunder Bhati gang. He is a close relative of Sunder Bhati, who is in judicial custody. He was absconding after the incident, and the district and session’s court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him in connection with Mr. Yadav’s murder. A bounty of ₹50,000 was declared on his head after the incident,” a police officer said. Mr. Yadav and his two gunners were killed in Tigri village in Noida Extension on November 16, 2017.

14-year-old killed

Miscreants had opened fire at Mr. Yadav, who was travelling in his SUV car.

A 14-year-old girl also died in the incident when the leader’s car rammed into her after losing control.
