A 30-year-old man allegedly bludgeoned his brother-in-law to death after the latter refused to lower the volume of television set in Nihal Vihar area of West Delhi, police said on Friday.

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday night when the accused, Harichand, was at his in-laws’ house. His 11-year-old brother-in-law was watching television at a high volume and refused to lower it. “Harichand nagged him and soon lost his patience. He allegedly crushed the boy’s face with a stone and locked the door from outside the house and fled the spot,” a police officer said.

At the time of incident, no other family member was at home.

When the boy’s parents returned home, they found the house locked from outside. “When they entered the house, they found their son lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival,” the police officer said.

A case of murder has been registered at Nihal Vihar police station and efforts are being made to trace the accused. - PTI
