A 35-year-old native of Nepal was allegedly stabbed to death by his brother over monetary dispute on Monday night in north-west Delhi’s Jahangirpuri. The accused was arrested from Paharganj following a raid.

“Victim Kofilal had come to Delhi a week ago to earn a living and was staying with his two brothers. The trio were drinking when Kofilal asked Hiralal for some money from his savings,” said a senior police officer.

Case registered

When Hiralal refused, Kofilal threatened to hit him with a beer bottled. Enraged, Hiralal stabbed his brother.

Kofilal was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to injuries, the police said.

After a murder case was registered at Jahangirpuri police station, teams were formed to nab the accused.

“He confessed to the crime and said he was planning to leave for Nepal,” added the officer.
