Man held for killing senior citizen in 2014

April 20, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - New Delhi:

Just as a 27-year-old man, wanted for the murder of an elderly man in 2014, was beginning to believe he had managed to give the police a slip, they traced his hideout to Mumbai.

Declared a proclaimed offender, Akram was arrested from Malad in Mumbai on Saturday and brought to Delhi for being tried for the alleged murder in which the other four suspects had been arrested within days of the murder.

All these years, he had been hiding at different places in Maharashtra and Gujarat, shuffling between selling fruits and ice-cream.

“He had recently turned confident that the police would never be able to track him,” said Ravindra Yadav, Joint CP (Crime).

But, the Crime Branch, in the recent past, has been working as per a plan to nab all such suspected criminals who have started finding shelter in Maharashtra and Goa.
