Waylaid by accused
The incident took place around 10 p.m. when Mr. Pakhare was driving his car to H Pocket Market near a Delhi Jal Board office and crossed a boy who was walking to the left of the car along the edge of the road. The victim, in his statement to the police, said that to maintain a safe distance from the pedestrian, he moved his car to the right and in the process brushed a bike. The biker then intercepted him and parked his vehicle right in front of Mr. Pakhare’s car.
Punching, threatening
“He started abusing me without any provocation. I tried to reason with him but he was aggressive and dragged me out of my car. After that he took out his mobile phone, called someone and asked the person to reach the spot,” said Mr. Pakhare.
When Mr. Pakhare asked the boy what the matter was, he told him his name. Within a few minutes a car arrived with four other boys inside. “One of them slapped me and punched me. I fell down as another boy kicked and punched me. They said they were teaching me a lesson for picking a fight with a boy from their village. They also threatened me with dire consequences if I informed the police before fleeing,” said the victim.
Mr. Pakhare was taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences Trauma Centre where he is recuperating. Based on his statement, a case of assault, wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation and common intention has been registered. The victim is a resident of Madanpur Khadar
