A 4-year-old was allegedly molested by her father in south-east Delhi’s Amar Colony on Wednesday. The father has been arrested, the police said on Thursday.
The victim’s mother approached the police claiming that her husband had molested their daughter. Following this, the girl was sent for medical examination. “The child was sent for medical examination along with her mother but she did not allow internal examination of the victim,” said a senior police officer.
The police registered a case under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 354A (Sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment), and Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act based on the mother’s complaint.
“The man was arrested and sent to judicial custody,” the officer said.
