Former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana was operated at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here on Thursday after he suffered a brain stroke early this morning.

According to hospital sources, 76-year-old Mr. Khurana was brought to SGRH hospital at 3 a.m. in an unconscious state with bleeding inside the brain.

The hospital said he has been operated and bleeding has been controlled thereby relieving the pressure inside the brain. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit and showing signs of improvement.

Mr. Khurana was operated by Neurosurgery Senior Consultant Dr. Rajesh Acharya and Consultant Dr. Sameer Kalra.

He had earlier also been treated at SGRH for brain haemorrhage in 2011.
