Young and talented Amritanshu (27) was just a few days away from joining his dream institute - MICA - to pursue a career in the media industry when an unfortunate accident cut short his life. A theatre artiste and topper in his university, Amritanshu, who was a resident of Delhi, met with an accident in Bangalore where he was employed with a software company.

On March 29, 2012, when he was on his way home on his bike, he was hit by a car being driven at a speed of around 140 km. Severely injured, he kept lying on the road for around 40 minutes before an office going girl spotted him and sent him to a hospital. To add to the irony, the hospital, a private one, sent him back to the accident spot where he succumbed to his injuries.

“The girl who took my nephew to hospital could not accompany him as her office security men did not permit her. As a result, he had to be sent in an auto with two people who had no idea about rules. The police threatened them and asked them to leave Amritanshu back at the accident spot; the hospital also did the same; and he lost his life,” Amritanshu’s uncle Amit Tandon told The Hindu.
