The Chief Ministerial candidate of the BJP, Kiran Bedi, said on Saturday that a police complaint has been lodged against Kumar Vishwas for allegedly making a 'sexist' remark at a rally three days back.
BJP leaders also approached the Election Commission and registered a complaint against Mr. Vishwas over the issue.
In a series of tweets, Ms. Bedi said: "What kind of security and dignity can women expect from AAP's leadership that itself has blatant sexist and perverse mindsets? A police complaint has been lodged against Kumar Vishwas' sexist comments at a recent rally in the presence of their leadership,"
Mr. Vishwas who has been targetting Ms. Bedi ever since she joined the BJP, however, challenged the BJP leaders to prove if his alleged remark, delivered during a jan sabha in Mundka on Wednesday, was against Ms. Bedi.
He also retweeted a video of the said jain sabha to prove his case.
In the video he is heard saying that the BJP has two issues with AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. “Two problems BJP has with Arvind Kejriwal. One is that he wears a muffler… has he snatched from you and worn? The other one they say he coughs a lot….. what is your problem? Do you have to sleep with him in his bedroom or what?”
PTI adds
The AAP leader said BJP was nervous ahead of the polls and that is why so many Union Ministers were deployed to campaign.
“Since they do not have any answer on issues of Delhi, they are spreading such rumours and filing FIRs to mislead people. Kiran Bedi is following the ideology of Amit Shah and wants to prove that she is becoming Rahul Gandhi of BJP. She doesn’t realise what they are making her do,” he said.
