A teenaged girl allegedly abducted in a Santro car was rescued by the police in Rohini here on Saturday after a long chase. Accused Ram Niwas Jindal, a civil engineer, has been arrested.

The Police Control Room received a call on Saturday morning informing that a girl was being ‘ill-treated’ inside a silver Santro car at Avantika traffic signal in Rohini Sector-3.

While looking for the vehicle, the police noticed the car going towards Sector 24/25 Rohini. They chased the car and passed on the information to other mobile patrol vans in the area.

After a long chase, the police intercepted the car near Barwala-Rithala Road and rescued the girl. Alleged kidnapper Jindal, a resident of Keshavpuram, was arrested.

According to the police, the accused had pulled the girl inside his car on the pretext of offering her a lift and started misbehaving with her.

A passer-by noticed it and made the call to the Police Control Room informing them about the location of the car.

A case has been registered at Sultanpuri police station.
