Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will once again contest from the New Delhi constituency.

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will once again contest from the New Delhi constituency. The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday announced Mr. Kejriwal’s candidature along with seven others for the upcoming Delhi polls. In December 2013, Mr. Kejriwal defeated former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit from the same constituency , which served as a defining moment for the party.

The AAP has so far declared 59 candidates for the 70-member Assembly. The list includes, Rajendra Gautam (Seemapuri), former Deputy Speaker of Delhi Assembly Fateh Singh (Gokulpuri), S.D. Sharma (Ghonda), Kailash Gehlot (Najafgarh), Amanatullah Khan (Okhla), Rajendra Dabas (Mundka) and Naresh Balyan (Uttam Nagar). Mr. Balyan was previously a Ward Councillor with the BJP.

Meanwhile, the AAP on Wednesday threatened to move court if the case related to alleged horse-trading of an AAP legislator in which the then BJP vice-president Sher Singh Dagar was involved, is not investigated properly.

In September this year, Mr. Kejriwal claimed at a press conference that it’s then MLA from Sangam Vihar, Dinesh Mohania, was offered Rs 4 crore by Mr. Dagar to quit the party.

“We think, the case is not going anywhere. Our then legislator Dinesh Mohania has been questioned several times, but there has been little progress when it comes to arrest of Sher Singh Dagar.

“We have given the proof to the police. Our party wants the case to be investigated properly or else we have to approach the court,” AAP's Delhi convenor Ashutosh said.
