Kejriwal meets Jung

May 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - NEW DELHI:

On a day when the Aam Aadmi Party legislators targeted Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung in the Assembly, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia met Mr. Jung on Tuesday.

Mr. Kejriwal met Mr. Jung at Raj Niwas around an hour before the Special Session of the Assembly convened. Chief Secretary K K Sharma was also present at the meeting, which sources said lasted less than half an hour.

This is the first meeting between the two since the confrontation began.

A day after the Delhi High Court ruled that it has authority to probe the Central Government officials, including Delhi Police personnel, sources said, Mr. Kejriwal discussed functioning of the Anti-Corruption Branch of the State government with Mr. Jung.

While the High Court order came in as a shot in the arm for the AAP government, services matter continues to remain a bone of contention between the L-G office and the State government. Defying a recent notification by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the AAP government transferred two IAS and seven DANICS officers on Monday night.
