Kejriwal hits out at Modi, L-G again

June 04, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 16, 2016 10:28 am IST - New Delhi:

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has once again accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung of placing hurdles in his government’s way.

His remarks come a day after the registration process of the Delhi government’s highly anticipated ‘app-based premium bus service’ was put on hold as it lacked the L-G’s approval.

“L-G and Modi Government aggressively start creating hurdles in Delhi Government, almost in every file (sic),” Mr Kejriwal tweeted on Thursday.

Lashing out at the Prime Minister for impeding projects of the Delhi government through the L-G, the Chief Minister tweeted: “Modi Ji is firing from L-G’s shoulder to thwart Delhi government in its every work.”

Failed project?

Earlier, during the second phase of the odd-even scheme in April, the AAP government had announced a policy for app-based premium bus service. This was to become operational from mid-June.

A notification with regard to the scheme was issued on May 20, but the project could not take off since it was not approved by the L-G.

In fact, the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) is now probing allegations regarding the project not getting the L-G’s nod and how it allegedly favoured a particular aggregator.
