A judge on the Division Bench of the Delhi High Court on Tuesday recused himself from hearing a case of alleged suicide by Amity University law student Sushant Rohilla last year on the ground that someone from his family was studying at the varsity.

Justice G. S. Sistani recused himself from the hearing and said the matter would be heard by another Bench.

The third-year student allegedly hanged himself at his home in Delhi on August 10, 2016, after the university allegedly barred him from writing his semester exams over low attendance.
