A woman working with a Guwahati-based news channel has alleged that she was gang-raped by two senior journalists, including her editor-in-chief.

Police confirmed that a case has been registered and said the matter was brought to their notice some time ago, but they did not give details.

According to the complaint, the incident took place at a five-star hotel in here where the two accused forced the complainant to establish a physical relationship with a senior politician from Assam.

The 35-year-old woman added that one of the accused was the editor-in-chief of the channel she worked for, while the other worked for a different channel. She said they had called her to the hotel for an interview with the politician. She also alleged that her editor sexually exploited her on the pretext of marriage.

A case has been registered at the Rajouri Garden police station and a notice was sent to the accused to appear before the investigating officer. A team has also been sent to Guwahati.

It is also learnt that the accused had applied for an anticipatory bail at a city court, which was rejected.
