The Delhi Jal Board has agreed to offer rebate on arrears of surcharge as on March 31.
At the Board meeting on Thursday headed by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, several key projects were also approved.
The Board has announced a special rebate scheme on arrears of surcharge, subject to full and final payment of the first round bill for 2010-11 in the case of domestic consumers and full and final payment of fourth round bill in the case of bulk consumers.
The waiver will be 90 per cent for all private registered consumers and 100 per cent for government and semi-government departments and government-aided schools.
This rebate scheme will not be applicable in cases where the matter is sub judice or pending in court for the revision of the bill. To avail of the scheme such consumers will be required to withdraw the court case unconditionally.
This scheme will be applicable for one month with effect from September 1.After the expiry of the scheme, no rebate will be allowed, and the water connections of the defaulting consumers will be disconnected.
The Board has also approved construction of the 4.5 ML capacity underground reservoir and booster pumping station at the APMC Ground in Azadpur. With this construction, the villages of Azadpur, Bharola, Sarai Pipal Thalla and APMC Rajasthani Udyog Nagar will benefit.
To meet the growing sewage treatment requirements of the Coronation Pillar drainage zone, construction of the 40 MGD sewage treatment plant and pumping station at Coronation Pillar including rising main up to Palla on design-build-own-operate basis have been approved by the Jal Board.
During the meeting approval was given for laying of the 2,000-mm diameter RCC relief sewer from Sunil Bakshi Marg to Najafgarh drain (interceptor sewer) near ESI hospital, laying of 1,400-mm shallow trunk sewer from Janakpuri District Centre to Keshopur STP inlet chamber, laying and joining of the 1,400- mm RCC relief sewer from Patel Road (Kirti Nagar metro station ) to Sunil Bakshi Marg and the balance work of laying of the 1,000-1,200-mm sewer from Vivekanand Mahila College to Jagriti SPS Shahdara.
