It’s a collective effort, says AAP

May 14, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:06 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Calling the latest air pollution data from cities across the world a “definitive positive trend for Delhi”, the State government in a release issued on Thursday said that the decline in air pollution levels in Delhi was a collective effort.

The data was released by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

“The government is committed to continue the war against air pollution with active cooperation from residents of the Capital,” the government said. The city-wise WHO database for May 2016 has placed Delhi at the 24 spot on the basis of PM10 concentration. The city ranks 11 on the basis of PM2.5.

In comparison, the 2014 ranking for Delhi was 8th and 1st, respectively, for PM10 and PM2.5 pollution levels.

The Delhi government also thanked the WHO for the comprehensive report on air pollution, which includes 175 South-East Asian cities across nine countries.
