A 36-year-old Italian woman was allegedly abducted by two people from Indira Gandhi International Airport on June 20 and later taken to Chandigarh, where she was robbed of €500. The accused have been arrested.

The woman reached the airport and booked a prepaid taxi to her hotel in Paharganj. Accused Prithvi Raj and Nikki took her towards central Delhi’s Gole market after lying to her that elections were underway and all roads leading to Paharganj were blocked.

She was then taken to Chandigarh, from where she managed to flee and come back to Delhi. She informed the Italian Embassy, which in turn informed the Delhi Police.
