Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yogendra Yadav on Sunday said the decision of the internal Lokpal Admiral (retired) L. Ramdas on all party matters, including whether a member could hold two posts or not, was final and binding.

Admiral Ramdas has questioned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s dual role as the Chief Minister and party convener and suggested addressing the concerns of the party workers over inner-party democracy.

Dismissing reports of a rift within the AAP over Mr. Kejriwal also continuing as the party convener, Mr Yadav who was here to organise party cadres to launch a campaign against the amendments to the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, however, said Mr. Kejriwal should hold both the posts as he was the face of honest politics that the party seeks to promote.

The rumour of widening divide between Mr. Kejriwal and Mr. Yadav have come out in the open with Admiral Ramdas’ e-mail to the members of the AAP’s Political Advisory Committee before the national executive meeting last week which is now in the public domain where he has expressed concern over “the breakdown in communications and mutual trust amongst the topmost leadership”. He recommends that “any criticism on inner-party democracy needed to be dealt with by an independent group which carries out an internal audit.”
