The Aam Aadmi Party government has been reduced to a minority with Independent legislator Rambeer Shokeen withdrawing support on Monday.
As of now, the ruling party has 27 MLAs after expulsion of Vinod Kumar Binny.
With the Congress’ eight and JD(U)’s one MLA, the AAP is left with 35 legislators, one short of a simple majority.
In case of a tie during the trust vote, the Speaker who is an AAP legislator can bridge the gap through his vote.
"Unkpet promises"
Mr. Shokeen told the media on Monday that he would meet Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Tuesday to inform him about his decision. The MLA from Mundka constituency alleged that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had made several promises to solve power and water problems in Delhi, but even after over a month of being in power he “failed” to address the issues.
Mr. Binny had withdrawn support earlier alleging that the AAP government “went back” on its promises to the people of Delhi.
