Describing himself as ‘part and parcel’ of Trinamool Congress, general secretary Mukul Roy on Sunday said he would participate in the party’s campaign for the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections in West Bengal.

“I have no problem with my organisation. I am very much part and parcel of Trinamool Congress. I am the founder general secretary of TMC,” Mr. Roy told reporters when he was questioned on whether there was a rift between him and the party leadership.

On whether he would participate in the party’s campaign for the forthcoming by-polls in Bongaon Parliamentary seat and Krishnaganj Assembly seat, Mr Roy said, “Yes, I will definitely participate.”

Mr. Roy was quizzed by the CBI on Friday in connection with the Saradha scam.

He attended a TMC core committee meeting, which was chaired by party supremo Mamata Banerjee, on Saturday at her Kalighat residence. PTI
