Following an attack on a doctor and vandalism by the attendants of a patient in General Hospital here on Sunday night, the district administration has decided to strengthen the security in the hospital premises.

Holding a meeting on the issue, Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi and Commissioner of Police Alok Mittal decided to strengthen the police post in the hospital and station a Police Control Room vehicle to reduce the response time.

It was also decided to increase the number of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed inside the hospital premises. Presently, there are about eight CCTV cameras installed in the hospital premises.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested Chotte Lal and his wife Kusum in the case and registered a First Information Report under Sections 147, 149, 186, 332, 353 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code at the Civil Lines police station. Both accused belong to Bihar.

As per information, a delivery case came to General Hospital, Gurgaon, and the woman was operated upon. The woman’s husband was consuming liquor inside the hospital to which the security guard objected and took him to the doctor on duty.

The man, later identified as Chotte Lal, allegedly misbehaved with the doctor and summoned his friends who allegedly resorted to vandalism.
