Hindu College to reconsider its stand

May 04, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Delhi University’s Hindu College, which had announced that it would not take students in its newl- constructed girls’ hostel from this year following protests over hostel fees and rules and regulations, has now decided to reconsider it.

The newly-opened girl’s hostel at Hindu College had drawn criticism from a section of students who alleged that the hostel was overcharging and imposing “derogatory” regulations on women, which forced the college authorities to put enrolments on hold this year.

However, this has irked a section of students and the college authorities are now re-thinking their decision.

“The decision of putting enrolments on hold has resulted in protest by another set of students. Following this we have decided to reconsider the matter,” said college Principal Anju Shrivastava.
