The Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed appeals filed by three Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) candidates for the Delhi University Students’ Union elections challenging an order of a Single Judge Bench dismissing their petitions against rejection of their nominations.

Rohit Chahal, Lalit Kumar and Ashok Khari of the ABVP had challenged the Single Judge Bench order. Rohit had filed nomination for the post of president and Lalit Kumar and Ashok Khari for the posts of secretary and joint secretary respectively.

Dismissing their appeals, a Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice A.P. Shah and Justice Sanjeev Khanna said it did not want to interfere in the Single Judge Bench order as there was no irregularity in it.

The Bench further said the chief election officer had taken decision on the nominations of the petitioners as per the code of conduct and the Supreme Court directions.

Dismissing their petitions on Tuesday, Justice Sanjeev Khanna of the Court had said that the chief election officer had established that the petitioners had violated the code of conduct and the Supreme Court directions.
